Wie Eidos' Community-Manager Mike Oldman bestätigt hat, wird Just Cause 2 kein Windows XP unterstützen. Das heißt also: Computer, die noch mit Windows XP laufen, können die Zerstörungsorgie nicht auf dem heimischen Rechner abspielen.

Vorarb veröffentlichte Eidos die Systemvorrausetzungen für Just Cause 2 und es fiel sofort auf, dass nur Windows 7 und Vista als kompatible Betriebssysteme angegeben waren. Auf die Nachfrage von VE3D hin, bestätigte Oldman die fehlende XP-Unterstützung mit folgenden Worten: "Ja, das ist wahr. Es gibt keine XP-Unterstützung für den zweiten Teil. Das liegt daran, dass das Spiel so programmiert wird, dass es einen Vorteil aus der Extra-Leistung von DirectX 10 zieht und leider unterstützt Windows XP diese Anwendung nicht."
