Wenn man einer Newsmeldung auf Aint It Cool Glauben schenken darf, dann hat sich Michael DeLuca, Dreamworks, die Recht an einem GTA-Streifen gesichert. Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some exciting news. If you've ever spent countless hours sniping random hookers, pedestrians and cops from some safe haven on top of a building, racking up your stars until the SWAT team is called in, then you should be interested in this bit of info I got. Looks like Michael DeLuca (ex-New Line producer... current Dreamworks producer) has picked up the rights to the very popular GRAND THEFT AUTO series. So far, I like this bit. DeLuca is known for going out of the way to support talented directors (like Ted Demme (BLOW), PTA (MAGNOLIA) and Alex Proyas (DARK CITY)... that being said, he's also the producer on crap like BODY SHOTS and TOWN & COUNTRY and LOST IN SPACE... But I tell you what... It's sure a weight off my back that DeLuca got these rights. Now that talentless bag of douche-water that calls itself Uwe Boll won't fuck up this series, too. This could make for a kick-ass movie. I'll keep my ear to the ground on further developements, like which game will they be looking to adapt first and who they're looking to cast. Exciting times, eh?
